A Boy’s Fan Letter To Barbra Streisand Gets A Response – Thanks To Oscar!
I love this story!
After receiving his first ever Oscar nomination for his role in film “Can You Ever Forgive Me?”, 62-year-old Richard E. Grant has just shared a sweet note he received from screen legend Barbra Streisand – after he shared on Twitter a letter that he’d sent to her at just 14.
The Oscar nominee, who is terrific by the way posted a picture of himself outside Streisand’s Hollywood estate. Grant also posted the 47-year-old fan letter that had he sent her = which was never answered until now! In the letter, notice how he offers a holiday in then Swaziland, the African country where he grew up!
Well, he had to wait a while, but the legendary Actress/Director/Singer finally got back to Grant, and congratulated him on his nomination.
As the Daily Mail reported:
For the second time in two weeks, Grant was left in floods of tears when Streisand told him: ‘Look at you now!’ and saying: ‘you’re terrific in your latest movie’.
She wrote on Twitter: ‘Dear Richard What a wonderful letter you wrote me when u were 14 ! and look at u now! You’re terrific in your latest movie with Melissa congratulations and love Barbra.’
As always, The Daily Mail had this great Hollywood story – thanks as always and everyone should check out their website now!
Richard E. Grant is a terrific Actor, and his autobiography, “With Nails” is a hilarious look at life in Hollywood…it’s a play on the film that made him a star:
“Withnail & I” is a brilliant British black comedy – the story of two struggling Actors who make a disastrous trip to the english countryside to visit “Uncle Monty”!
Here is a look at the film, and the cult following that led to a book all about it:
Bravo to Richard E. Grant for a fanboy’s dream finally coming true!
