RIP David Bowie…
This has shocked music fans around the world…the announcement that David Bowie has died of cancer at the age of 69.

“Black Star” was released late last week on the singer’s birthday, and it’s a prescient look at what he knew was ahead…
I was just listening to one of my favorite albums of his, and was planning on posting about it…

“They Call Them The Diamond Dogs!”
“Diamond Dogs” was Bowie’s 1974 concept album: a marriage of the novel “Nineteen Eighty-Four” by George Orwell and Bowie’s take on a future that was a bit like the film “Escape From New York.”

Bowie had tried to license Orwell’s book for a theatrical play but was denied, and so the album was released, with a song “1984” included.

Alex and I saw his art exhibit in Chicago last year, and it only reinforced the various creative facets of his career…
